My training

I am a fully qualified acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council. This allows me to include the designatory letters BA (Hons) Lic Ac MBAcC after my name. I have completed three years of full time training – the minimum required in order to practice to the high care standards outlined by the British Acupuncture Council.

There is currently an ongoing programme of work to agree a Royal Charter for the acupuncture profession. If this is successfully implemented it will help the public to recognise those practitioners with accepted levels of education as they will refer to themselves as Chartered Acupuncturists.

As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I am required to continually update and refine my practice through continual professional development (CPD). I am committed to a wide ranging CPD programme for the benefit of my patients and regularly attend five element seminars as well as a study group to improve and enhance my practice and share information with colleagues.

Additional training includes Acupuncture in Pregnancy with leader in the field Debra Betts. Attending Debra’s international seminar ensures I stay up-to-date with the evidence base in the field of obstetric acupuncture, including emerging evidence around fertility and IVF protocols.

I am trained in first aid and attend top up training every three years.
